I Want God to Give Me Lollipops
One day a little boy went to the store with his mother. As the mother was checking out, the owner of the store approached the little boy with a jar of lollipops. “Reach your hand in there and get yourself a handful,” said the man to the boy. The boy stood there and wouldn’t reach his hand in there. After a few seconds had passed, the man reached his hand inside the jar and handed the little boy a handful of lollipops. When the little boy and his mother got in the car to head home the mother asked the little boy, “Why didn’t you reach your hand inside the jar?” The little boy replied, “Because his hand was bigger than mine!”
God’s hand is much bigger than our hands! May we trust God to provide for us and care for us, as only He can. What He has planned for us is far greater anything we can ever imagine. So, I challenge all of us to let God give us lollipops instead of trying to get them ourselves!
“I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for.” Jeremiah 29:11 The Message
