Stepping Out of the Comfort Zone



Comfort zones. We all have them. They are nice and cozy, like a warm blanket. We like to stay in our comfort zones because they make us feel good. They don’t challenge us. They don’t intimidate us. They don’t do, well, anything for us. Sure, we might feel “okay” in our comfort zones. But is that really how we want to feel? Just okay? 

Don’t we have dreams? Don’t we have things that we want to accomplish? Sure we might have accomplished some things within our comfort zones, but we haven’t even begun to see our full potential just sitting back relaxing in our space of comfort. Comfort is just that, comfortable. And we all know that when we get comfortable, we get lazy. And when we are lazy, we don’t push ourselves to continue pushing forward and improving.

I will admit that I am a fan of the comfort zone because it doesn’t require me to step out and put myself out there. But over the last month, I have been pushed well beyond my comfort zone. Did I kick a bit at first? Absolutely! Did I try to hold onto to that little bit of comfort? Sure. But do I regret stepping out of my comfort zone & challenging myself? Absolutely not! Stepping out of my comfort zone has opened so many doors of opportunity for me. It has made me a stronger person. A better person. Someone who is okay with a little discomfort. I have come to realize that not all discomfort is bad. It can actually be good for you. It can expose your true potential. 

Imagine if some of the greatest people in history had remained in their comfort zones. What if Mother Teresa never stepped out? What if Steve Jobs had not stepped out? What if Picasso had not stepped out? Leonardo da Vinci? Einstein? Shakespeare? All of these people (and I am sure many others come to mind) stepped out of their comfort zones to challenge themselves, and expose their true potential. 

My challenge to you today, is to step out of your comfort zone. Embrace challenge. Seek to be different. Let go of the warm blanket, and step into the unknown. See what happens. Expose your true potential!

Why I Believe in the One Package Deal


I have the honor and privilege to help people live healthier lives. I don’t just suggest programs and Shakeology to people just because I can, or just because it’s my job. I suggest the programs that I do and Shakeology, because I believe in these products. I know they work. I know they are the best, and I know they will deliver results.

With all of that said, I often get asked, “why should I get a Challenge Pack“.  Some people think that having the workout program is enough, and Shakeology is just not necessary. Some people think that the workout program is irrelevant and Shakeology is all they want. Some people don’t see the benefit of a club membership. I understand all of these, and if that is you in one of these categories, I am not trying to bash on you. I just want to help everyone see how a Challenge Pack sets you up for the best success possible.

Here are a few reasons I believe that a Challenge Pack option is best for you:

  1. Optimal fitness and optimal nutrition. You get the best of fitness and the best of nutrition all packaged in ONE box. There is no reason for you to have to search for these two items in two different places. You get your workout and your nutrition all in one place. It comes to you in one box, so there is no waiting on your workout program and then waiting on your nutrition. You get it all in one. This is setting you up for success from day one!
  2. Club membership. This is one of the best and most affordable ways to boost your chances for success. Yes, a free basic membership is fine. There is nothing wrong with having a free basic membership. But a club member gets everything that a basic member gets PLUS a 10% discount on ALL Beachbody products, VIP access to top trainers Tony Horton, Shaun Thompson, Chalene Johnson), and a meal planner to help you plan your meals. How doesn’t like to save a little money? And how awesome is it that Beachbody is making top trainers available to you, as well as giving you a meal planning tool to help you with your eating habits?! Again, this is setting you up for success from day one!
  3. Saves money. By purchasing a Challenge Pack you save yourself some money. (Again, who doesn’t like to save some money?) Depending on the pack you choose, you can save anywhere from around $50-$100! Let’s say you decide to go with P90X. Well, P90X is going to cost you about $120. Then Shakeology will cost you another $120, and then if you decide later you want to become a club member, that will cost you another $38.87 quarterly. Total spent: $278.00. The cost of the P90X Challenge Pack: $205. Hello, if I don’t have to spend an extra $73.87 up front, then I don’t want to spend it! Yes, the club membership is free for the first 30 days, and then will cost you $38.87 quarterly. But you still will save even if you decide to continue with your club membership after the 30 days.

So, these are a few reasons why I believe that choosing a Challenge Pack is the best option. Optimal fitness & nutrition in one package, club membership, and saves money. If you truly are ready for a change in your health, then why not go for it with the best option? Why not go with the option that is going to set you up for success from day one? Why would you want to do the work, but not improve your nutrition? Or why would you want to improve your nutrition, but not do the work to get your body in shape? It’s not about looking a certain way. It is about your health! That is what I care about. I care about your health, and want to see you live the healthiest life possible for you and your family.

There is Still Hope



Do ever have those moments when you just want to throw in the towel and walk away? When you just feel like screaming, “I quit”? Or maybe you just feel like all of your efforts are hopeless? 

Yea, we all have those moments. They may not be the same for everyone. Some of us may feel like that with our jobs. Some us feel that way in our marriages. With our kids. With our dreams. Maybe our health. Whatever the reason, we still all can relate to having these moments from time to time. 

It’s funny though to me, because whenever I start feeling like this. Whenever I have one of these moments, God quickly reminds me to not lose hope. A friend may offer me a word of encouragement. Or maybe someone I am helping shares with me a success of their own. Sometimes the reminder comes through my husband just telling me how much he loves me, or my kids saying “thank you.” 

Too often I fail to think on these “reminders” when I begin to feel like all hope is lost, until God sends another one my way. But when these reminders come, it is like a breath of fresh air sweeping over me. My soul breathes life. My hope is renewed. My smile is returned. 

Friend, I pray that during the times where you feel that all hope is lost, that you will be reminded that there is still hope. I pray that you have a flood of reminders, and that your hope is renewed. You are precious. You are valued. You are amazing. 

3 Phrases Your Spouse Needs to Hear From You


We all know the importance of communication in marriages. We know that without communication any relationship can go sour. But I think sometimes we overlook what we should say. No, there is no rule book for what has to be said or what shouldn’t be said. We do have to think for ourselves and be in tune with our spouse. But I do think there 3 important phrases that our spouses NEED to hear from us. I wanted to share those phrases with you, as I believe if we actually said these 3 phrases more often we would see our marriages improve and grow.

1. “I love you.” I know you are probably thinking, “duh, I knew that already.” But stop and think about how often you say it. Does your spouse hear those words from you daily? Weekly? Monthly? Yearly? Once in a blue moon? You may think that it isn’t necessary to actually speak these words because you think that your spouse already knows how much you love them, but actually speaking them carries more weight than you realize. Telling your spouse on a DAILY basis that you love them can turn a marriage around greatly. Yes, of course, you need actions to back up what you speak. But speak that phrase to your spouse and watch as their face lights up.

2. “I value you.”  Hold up. But my spouse didn’t come from store? Is that even correct to say? ABSOLUTELY! Your spouse needs to hear that you value them. That you respect them as a person and don’t think of them as just someone you share life with. They need to know that they are valued. You hold them at a high priority in your life. And that they mean more to than football, shopping, friends, Facebook, work, etc. They need to know that you think of them as PRICELESS. They carry high value in your eyes.

3. “I appreciate you.” Oh this one carries so much weight with it. A lot of times we hear the complaint of how a husband doesn’t appreciate the wife, more so than hearing the reverse complaint. But this goes both ways. If you want your husband to appreciate you, ask yourself if you appreciate him. If you want your wife to appreciate you, ask yourself if you appreciate her. Do you notice the small things that he/she does every day? Laundry. Dishes. Cooking. Putting gas in the car. Checking your tires. Leaving the toilet seat down. Watching what you want to watch even though you know they don’t really care for it. The little things are often overlooked. But make it a point to start noticing them, and telling your spouse that you appreciate them

These 3 phrases may seem very simple, but I think we often find them difficult to speak aloud. I think though if we really want to see change in our marriages, we have to make it a point to speak these 3 phrases to our spouse daily. Lift one another up. Honor and respect one another. Pay attention to one another.

“Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands……Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect…” 1 Peter 3:1 & 7

Do you enjoy helping other people? Do enjoy helping people succeed? Do you have a passion to see people achieve their goals?

If this is you, then I want you to consider becoming a Beachbody coach and joining my team.

I’m looking for 2 people to join my team this month. Only 2. Why? Because I want to take the time to put you under my wing, mentor you, and show you what you need to do to reach your goals as a Beachbody Coach and to help people succeed in their health and fitness goals this year.

Starting February 4th you will be part of a Coach’s Challenge group that I will lead that will walk you through the ins and outs of being a coach and will set you up to start your first Beachbody Challenge group in March (it’s okay to do this while you are in one of my fitness challenge groups). I will be there to answer questions, guide you, and give you step by step instructions so that you get started right. It’s going to be an amazing time of growth and will also be a lot of fun too!

So before you contact me and say, “Yes Jaclyn, I want to be on your team and be in your coach’s challenge group,” I want you to consider the following:

  • Are you passionate about helping people? Do you enjoy people?
  • Are you seeking to take steps to improve your own health & fitness levels? (No, you don’t have to be in perfect shape or a fitness nut. You just need to want to improve your health and want to help others do the same.)
  • Are you willing to step out of your comfort zone in order to help people who need you?
  • Do you currently work out or plan to work out to a Beachbody program? Are you currently drinking or do you plan to begin drinking Shakeology? 
  • Are you ready to change lives for the better?

I want you to consider these things because if you didn’t answer yes to all of them, Beachbody Coaching may not be for you. However, if you answered yes to all of the questions, then you have a fantastic opportunity awaiting you as a health and fitness coach.

Lastly, not only do you get to work with people and walk with them on their fitness journey, but you also have the opportunity to make a part-time or full-time job income from it. What would this allow you to do? Perhaps it would allow you to stay home with your kids instead of putting them in daycare. Or, you could pay off your car or school loan. Maybe you would just like some extra cash to go on a date night with your significant other. Or maybe you just want a way to add to your grocery budget. I Have A Dream


Today is Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, as many of us know. It got me thinking on these famous words from Martin Luther King Jr., “I have a dream.” Read that again, “I have a dream.” MLK didn’t just have any dream. His dream wasn’t to one day own a BMW, or to one day become the most famous person on earth. His dream wasn’t to open an ice cream shop with over 100 different flavors, or to one day sell men’s clothing. He didn’t even dream of becoming a famous rockstar. No, MLK’s dream was much bigger than any of those dreams. His dream was for prejudice and racism to exist no more. His dream was for his children to experience a world where everyone of all races could interact freely and openly. His dream was a BIG dream.

All of these got me to thinking. Do I dream BIG? I mean, really BIG? Are my dreams of just ice cream shops and fancy cars, or do my dreams carry the potential to make a difference in this world? Will my dreams lift others up or only build myself up? Say these words again, “I have a dream.” Say them though for yourself, not as if you are hearing MLK speak them. What kind of weight do they carry for you? Do they make you stop and evaluate your dreams? Do they make you excited for the fire in your gut to make a difference?

Did you know that God has BIG dreams for you? Jeremiah 29:11 speaks it so clearly, ” ‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” Did you catch that? (I know I am full of questions today.) God has a wonderful future planned for you! He has BIG dreams for you! And no, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you will have everything in the world you ever wanted, but it does mean that He wants to lavish you with His love. He wants to pour out his blessings upon you. He wants share his goodness with you. Those are BIG dreams my friend. Those are the dreams laid out for you.

So, my challenge to you today is to dream BIG. Embrace God’s BIG dreams for you. Share your dreams. Encourage others to dream BIG. Dreaming BIG is not something just for people like MLK. Dreaming BIG is for you and me as well.

Day 10 of My P90X Adventure



Today was Day 10 of my P90X adventure, and let me just be honest and say that I am really missing my time with Shaun T. Insanity is definitely an intense and tough workout, but P90X is tough in a different way. And Yoga X days are not my fav. Just saying. 

But overall I am feeling pretty good about my progress so far. I got excited yesterday as I logged in my reps for Shoulders & Arms. I noticed that I was already increasing in numbers of reps! That got me pumped to push on and see what I was made of. When you can see progress that you are making, it only encourages you to keep doing more. At least for me anyway. I mean who doesn’t like to improve and get better at things? 

So, only 80 more days to on this adventure. I know that I will only get stronger. I am believing that I will be stronger. I am believing that what seems difficult now will still be challenging but I will be able to do more. You know what they say, “If it doesn’t challenge you, then it won’t change you.” So “BRING IT” Tony Horton, because I plan to “BRING IT” right back!

Fit Chic Headbands Review and Giveaway


This morning was Day 8 of my P90X journey, and it was also Plyometrics day. Jump here. Jump there. Basically my living room turns into one big jumping room on Plyo days. I usually fight with my hair landing all in my face or work my magic (or lack thereof) my pulling some of my hair up into a “Pebbles-style” ponytail. Well, I will fight no more with my hair on Plyo days!

Enter Fit Chic Headbands! These bands are amazing! I put it on my head, and it didn’t budge at all! No slipping. No having to stop during my workout to adjust it. And my hair was kept out of my face. Winning! I will be making these bands a staple in my workout accessories. Oh, did I mention they are fashionable? Super cute! Totally not Richard Simmons kind of headbands.
